Here in Maryland, we don’t get the dry, crisp desert heat—we get humidity. That means sweat sticks, the air feels heavier, and the heat index (how hot it feels) can be dramatically higher than the temperature alone.

This puts added stress on your body, especially during workouts or high-sweat activities like hot yoga or running. Unlike dry heat, humid heat slows sweat evaporation, which means your body retains more heat and fatigue can hit fast.

UV Protection: More Than Just SPF

Here are some simple ways to practice UV safety this season:

  • Use mineral-based SPF daily, even on cloudy days.
